How to Eat RAW During a BLIZZARD
I woke up around 8 this morning (well ANDREW woke me up at 8 this morning!) to see that it started snowing here in the Garden State.
I knew that there was supposed to be a snowstorm this weekend so yesterday morning Andrew and I went food shopping to stock up on some supplies.
We bought tons of bananas, frozen blueberries, tomatoes, spinach, cucumbers, celery, cilantro, baby romaine, Halawi DEATS (Andrew calls dates “deats), sunflower seeds, avocados and some other things I’m not remembering..
We also got some durian and Thai coconuts as we were planning on having a get together today.
I’m not sure if that’s still happening as I just checked the UPDATED weather forecast and we’re expected to have between 12-20 INCHES of SNOW!
WOW it’s a good thing Andrew and I stocked up on some FOOD.
Initially the forecast called for 8 to 12 inches of snow.
So what are we eating now that we’re snowed in?
We can make some delicious smoothies like Roger’s tasty Blueberry Cherry Chunk Smoothie (aka “Papa No-no, Andrew’s name for it).
We also plan on making plenty of Roger’s WORLD FAMOUS Savory Veggie Stews
Although raw they keep us warmer than any COOKED veggie stew out there!
I’m thinking about making some Thai food thanks to all the coconuts we have to make coconut noodles with.
I will also serve some delicious & creamy Thai durian for our “Taste of Thailand” dinner I’m planning for tonight.
I even have a wonderful Thai inspired Savory Veggie Stew I can make as well.
We also have plenty of apples, tangerines, oranges, canistels (aka eggfruit, a tasty tropical treat) among other goodies.
I bet Andrew will want to make a batch of fresh tangerine “JUICY”
So as you can see we have a great variety of raw foods in our kitchen.
A lot of people wonder if we want to eat cooked foods now that it’s cold?
My answer is NO.
Let me tell you why.
When I WAS a cooked foodie I used to eat ICE CREAM in the winter (you can’t get colder than that “food”)
I also would eat hot food in the middle of SUMMER and even drink HOT beverages like coffee and tea.
So since I used to do such INSANE things (ice cream during the winter?) why couldn’t I (or anyone else for that matter) continue to eat raw foods during the winter?
Right now we’re experiencing a BLIZZARD. Now doesn’t the food we have sound DELICIOUS?
Enjoy your weekend (I’m sure Andrew’s going to want to go OUTSIDE and play in the snow)
Love,
Karmyn
