Thirsty Enough To Drink TOILET WATER

Funny thing happened last weekend.  I went to a raw food restaurant with my beau, Roger Haeske & my son, Andrew.

I ordered a raw vegan taco salad and I ordered a raw vegan gardenburger with raw vegan chips for Andrew.

Roger ordered a house salad and later ordered a taco salad which he ended up taking home.

The problem with eating at gourmet raw restaurants is that the food tends to be salty.

We don’t use any salt in our food at home so we’re used to eating a low salt diet.

We also do not own a dehydrator (most of what we ate at the restaurant was prepared in a dehyrdator).

Once the food came to the table Andrew didn’t want to eat any of it.  Without even tasting it he had no interest in it.

He only ate the green stuff like veggies and the avocado pesto dip.

He didn’t want anything else (Roger and I ate what he didn’t).

It’s a good thing he didn’t eat the food because after Roger and I finished eating we were so THIRSTY we felt as if every drop of water was sucked out of our bodies.

We had glasses of water brought over that we quickly drank.

I was SO thirsty that I asked for a PITCHER of water!

I drank all the water and on our way back from the restaurant I told Roger that I felt so thirsty and dehyrated that I would drink out of the toilet if I had to!

I’ve never felt so THIRSTY in my life.

So what did I learn from this experience? (something similar has happened to me dozens of times since becoming a raw foodist)

I learned that I can NEVER eat any type of salty dehydrated food (whether raw or cooked) ever again.

One of the main problems with eating dehyrdated foods, is that they lack the second most important nutrient.

No I’m not talking PROTEIN (I’m sure there are many who believe this)

I’m talkin WATER.

You can go many WEEKS without any food and survive, but can last only DAYS without WATER.

So knowing this you see that it makes NO SENSE to deprive yourself of such an ESSENTIAL nutrient like water.

That’s why it’s essential to wean yourself (if you haven’t already done so) of any food that deprives and depletes your body of much needed water.

Dehyrated raw foods, although helpful for those first transitioning into raw, cannot be a long term staple (not to mention the fact that they’re typically high in fat).

Dehydrated cooked foods like bread really shouldn’t be in anyone’s diet.  I mean try putting some toast through a juicer and see what comes out.

Why is there so much insanity in the world of food?

Do yourself a favor and stick to fresh fruits and vegetables. They’re full of water.

Do this so the idea of drinking out of a toilet never enters your mind …

That’s all for now.  Enjoy the rest of your week.

Love,

Karmyn
